Sun & Ski is a nationwide retail chain that specializes in high-end athletic equipment and apparel. In 2015, Sun & Ski needed a series of posters to display in-store as well at outdoor events for their selfie contest, in which Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter followers submitted images of themselves in order to win a $25 gift card. Sun & Ski has always maintained a bold and energetic brand.
With that in mind, I designed these posters to work with Sun & Ski’s already established look but stand seperate from their other campaigns. I wanted the people within the image to be the focal point, as a selfie is all about the people within the image. I used an offset halftone image to reference movement or action. Then text in brand colors to stand out from the greyscale imagery and be easily readable from a distance.
